It has been a long wait but we finally got some great news from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3. The Swordsmith Village arc just got a new teaser that offered our first glimpse at returning character Genya Shinazugawa who is set to play a major role in the third season. In addition to that, it was confirmed that the anime's upcoming season will screen in theaters worldwide ahead of its official premiere in April 2023.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Teaser Confirms Genya's Return

The Demon Slayer promotion reel was dropped after the special broadcast of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie: Mugen Train. The reel featured a brief teaser showing some footage from the Swordsmith Village arc. Although it's mostly about the Hashiras Muichiro Tokito and Mitsuri Kanroji, we also get a quick look at Genya Shinazugawa (at the 1:10 mark in the video below).

Genya only appears for a second in the Demon Slayer Season 3 teaser but it's enough to have fans excited about the young Demon Slayer.

Who Is Genya Shinazugawa?

Genya Shinazugawa was introduced in the anime's first season when he was one of the young contenders who passed the Demon Slayer Corps exam and he had a brief altercation with Tanjiro Kamado. He later reappears sporadically throughout the show and he remains to be a huge mystery for anime-only fans.

Luckily, people are set to see a lot more of Genya in Demon Slayer Season 3 as he is going to play a huge role in the Swordsman Village arc. We won't spoil a lot here but he is definitely a unique Demon Slayer who could turn into a fan favorite in the future.

Demon Slayer Season 3 ("Kimetsu no Yaiba: Katanakaji no Sato-Hen") is set to premiere in April 2023. Before that, the special event World Tour Screenings: Demon Slayer: The Upper Ranks Gather and Onward to the Swordsmith Village screenings will play in theaters in over 80 countries and territories from February 3, 2023.
