Chris Evans Misses Playing Captain America: 'It's Been A Wonderful Symbiotic Relationship'

Recently, Chris Evans reminisced on playing one of his most prominent roles, Marvel’s Captain America. The actor admits, “It’s been a wonderful symbiotic relationship” with Steve Rogers.

Speaking with People Magazine, as reported on Screen Rant, amid Evans becoming the Sexiest Man Alive awardee of 2022, the actor also shares his experience working for Marvel Studios since his debut as Captain America back in 2011, admitting he misses playing the role sometimes. Read Chris Evans’ full quote below:

“They’re challenging, but the beauty is [that] the movies are great. You get out what you put in. It’s been a wonderful, very symbiotic relationship, so I’ve been thrilled to do it. I think when the movies end, you’re very happy to have a break. But very quickly, you miss it. I miss it now. But yeah, I’m very grateful and very happy to have been a part of them.”

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier may have attempted to ‘rebrand’ the new Captain America with John Walker’s Wyatt Russell, but soon after discovering his tendency to be driven too much by emotions, to the point of violence, Sam Wilson was able to ‘take’ the Captain’s shield, which would instill a bigger role and responsibility for the Falcon in future Avenger films.

We have also seen Captain Carter even for just a few minutes in Doctor Strange 2: Multiverse of Madness, but not seeing her full potential as she was almost immediately killed by Wanda Maximoff as the Scarlet Witch.

There is no doubt anybody can replace Chris Evans’ Captain America, and seeing as Steve Rogers didn’t exactly die in Avengers: Endgame, just that his physical body has caught up to his actual age, there is a slight possibility of his reappearance into future MCU films.

However, as Evans stated, he has already said his ‘goodbyes’ to his character by expressing his gratitude to have been a part of the Marvel films. What would be more interesting to see is how Sam Wilson as Captain America will play out in future Avenger films, as well as possibly leading the ‘new’ team for war.
