After the big reveal in the previous chapter, the latest batch of Black Clover Chapter 342 spoilers have leaked online, and it goes into more detail about Yami Sukehiro’s origin.
Similar to other big Shonen Jump titles, Black Clover spoilers usually get shared online days before the official chapter release.
The same happened with this upcoming chapter, especially considering how big things are being set up and explored.

Black Clover Chapter 342 – Yami's Backstory
At the end of Chapter 341, Yami’s sister, Ichika, accused him of killing their entire clan. This set the fanbase on fire as there was a one-week break following the chapter.
Many fans also drew comparisons to Itachi’s slaughter of the Uchiha clan from Naruto.
Based on the new leaks, the upcoming chapter begins with a flashback to Yami’s childhood.
There, it was shown that Yami’s father was an alcoholic, and it seems that his mother died after giving birth to Ichika.
In one scene, it’s shown that Yami’s father wants to hit Ichika with a wooden sword. There’s also a flashback featuring Yami with Ryuya.
Yami’s supposed slaughter of his clan wasn’t shown in the flashbacks as the chapter then shifts to the present day with a confrontation between Asta and Ichika.

Black Clover – Asta vs. Ichika
In the present, Ichika tells Asta that Yami killed everyone in their clan at the age of 13 and that he shouldn’t trust him. She further explains that Yami ran away after the slaughter and ended up joining Asta.
Despite this, Asta says that he trusts Yami and that he doesn’t believe what she says.
In response, Ichika takes out her scroll and uses her spell, 'Dark Yojutsu: dark cloaked black warrior,' setting up a fight between her and Asta.
Of course, you might want to take these spoilers with a grain of salt, especially as they can’t be confirmed until the official release of the chapter.
So, if you want the official details, you’ll have to wait for the chapter’s release.
Black Clover Chapter 342 will be released this weekend on Manga Plus outside Japan.
