Avatar 2 Trailer Showcases James Cameron's Promise of Stunning CGI

James Cameron has been preparing for Avatar: Way of Water to prove that 3D is not dead and this sequel trailer just proved his promise for a better CGI for the film. You can watch the trailer below:

Avatar: Way of Water featured a vast exploration of the underwater world and its sea creatures, and the computer-generated faces are full of expressions — definitely marking up a great start and tease for an even more emotional return. The teaser trailer even oversees a greater evil that is set to disrupt the peace in Pandora, setting up a war that the audience should be looking forward to seeing.

Previously, the team behind the Avatar sequel has been promoting that the sequel is definitely ‘more gorgeous’ than ever. In fact, it took ten years to create and finish, according to Avatar 2 producer Jon Landau during the Busan International Film Festival, where he revealed that most of the first act of the film has been completed.

Initially, the Way of Water was supposed to be released back in December 2014, however, it ended up getting delayed on multiple occasions. But judging from the trailer’s showcase of the underwater CGI and meeting familiar faces back on screen again, it seems that James Cameron’s Avatar: Way of Water is not here to disappoint, especially since they managed to invest in high-frame-rate projection technology.

Avatar: Way of Water welcomes the audiences back to Pandora about a decade after the events in the first film where Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) share their journey on raising their family together. Now, they must defend their family against a new looming threat coming to Pandora.

Avatar: Way of Water hits theaters on December 16 this year.
