In a report from Deadline, Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, will, once again, be delayed with Shazam! Fury of the Gods taking up the March 17, 2023 release and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom moving to December 25, 2023.

The decision was not explained by Warner Bros. but with the merger of Warner Bros. Discovery with HBO Max, the company is currently facing some corporate re-structures which affected a lot of projects, even causing some titles to be scrapped and cancelled.

However, for Shazam! Fury of the Gods, director David F. Sandberg puts the blame on Avatar: The Way of Water. In a tweet, Sandberg personally addressed the delay and wanted to have his DC film the attention that it should receive without another huge movie overshadowing it.

This is not the first time that Shazam! Fury of the Gods got delayed. It was first set to come out on April 1, 2022 then it was changed to November 4, 2022, and another push back to December 21, 2023 due to the global pandemic. The March 17, 2023 release date will be the fourth and hopefully, the final release date of the movie.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods will be following the heroes as they take on the villain, Hespera and Calypso, the daughters of Atlas, the Greek titan.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is now set to release in theaters on March 17, 2023.
