Avatar 2 Star Stephen Lang Teases Why The Sequel Is 'Absolutely Gorgeous'

Stephen Lang is set to reprise his role as Colonel Miles Quaritch, a human who led the forces of the RDA (the human organization of Pandora colonizers) in the Avatar movie sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water. Seeing as Avatar has been one of James Cameron’s most ambitious projects in development for over 10 years, it is no surprise that Cameron had succeeded even the expectations of his own film cast.

In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, Lang shares he has ‘already seen a lot of Avatar: The Way of Water’ and is turning out to be a ‘no question, amazing’ movie, unlike anything we’ve seen before. Read his full quote below:

“I have seen a lot of Avatar 2. It is amazing. There’s no question about it. I mean, I’ve never seen anything like it and I’ve seen Avatar. It’s pretty out there, it’s beautiful. Aside from the fact that it’s absolutely gorgeous to look at and everything like that, it’s just such a humane film. There’s so much heart and feeling and passion in the movie that I think it’s going to have a very, very broad appeal.”

Avatar 2’s Producer Jon Landau first revealed its teaser at the Busan International Film Festival where he announced that most of the first act of the film has been completed, along with its graciousness for the fans waiting for the sequel to come out. After all, it is no easy feat to come near the premiere date after so many delays in finishing the film, along with the investment in high frame-rate projection technology to make this film come to life.

Avatar: The Way of Water will be featuring Pandora about a decade after the events of the first film where Jake and Neytiri finally have their family to raise. Now, they must defend their family at all costs against a new looming threat in Pandora.

Avatar: The Way of Water is set to be released on December 16, 2022.
