Amber Heard is moving forward with positivity and revealed that she still loves Johnny Depp even after their long, contentious and heavily publicized defamation trial. Speaking to Savannah Guthrie for NBC News, in the wake of the verdict from her ex-husband’s $50 million defamation suit, the Aquaman actress shared she harbors “no ill will” toward the Pirates of the Caribbean “at all.”

After the six-week trial in Fairfax County, Virginia, a seven-person jury reached a verdict on June 1 and decided that Johnny Depp proved Amber Heard defamed him in a 2018 op-ed. The jury awarded the Fantastic Beasts actor $15 million in damages but the London Fields actress would only have to pay $10.35 million due to a Virginia law limiting punitive damages.

“He insists his motivation was never to ruin her, he was merely looking to correct her accusations about his character.”
