Amber Heard is moving forward with positivity and revealed that she still loves Johnny Depp even after their long, contentious and heavily publicized defamation trial. Speaking to Savannah Guthrie for NBC News, in the wake of the verdict from her ex-husband’s $50 million defamation suit, the Aquaman actress shared she harbors “no ill will” toward the Pirates of the Caribbean “at all.”
After the six-week trial in Fairfax County, Virginia, a seven-person jury reached a verdict on June 1 and decided that Johnny Depp proved Amber Heard defamed him in a 2018 op-ed. The jury awarded the Fantastic Beasts actor $15 million in damages but the London Fields actress would only have to pay $10.35 million due to a Virginia law limiting punitive damages.
Now, a new report suggests that Johnny Depp does not see any reason to make peace with Amber Heard despite the Zombieland actress’ most-recent expression about her love for the Into the Woods star. Keep on reading to know more details.
Amber Heard Never Getting An Apology From Johnny Depp?

In court, both Amber Heard and Johnny Depp accused each other of lying about horrific violence. It was clear, however, that the Hollywood couple’s 16-month marriage reached peak toxicity sometime in March 2015.
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp had a blowout fight in their rented house in Australia at the time, in which the Black Mass actor alleged his ex-wife threw a bottle at him and the glass severed his finger. For her part, Amber claimed Johnny s*xually assaulted her with a glass bottle.
Jurors got an earful but, as per Star Magazine, there were things they did not hear about during the six-week trial. An unnamed source told the entertainment news outlet:
“Johnny and Amber could be passionate and loving, but they are both intense characters with a propensity for partying and jealousy. When they fought, they fought hard and horribly.”
The same insider claimed Johnny Depp feels no need to make peace with Amber Heard. It stated:
“He insists his motivation was never to ruin her, he was merely looking to correct her accusations about his character.”
Amber Heard has declared she would appeal the court’s verdict. However, the Pineapple Express star is not the only one pursuing legal action as Johnny Depp would also be back in court to face off against a local manager from his 2018 movie City of Lies, who claimed the actor punched him during a dispute.
Despite reports claiming Johnny Depp was not offered $300 million to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean, a source told Star Magazine that numerous Hollywood bigwigs would like to “un-cancel” the actor. Of Amber Heard’s ex-husband, the tipster added:
“Johnny is playing his cards close to his chest while his people assess his options and figure out what makes the most sense. What’s most important to him is choosing the right project and teaming up with the right producers. The guys who have had his back through thick and thin.”
Amber Heard has yet to respond to the claims that Johnny Depp does not have any plan to make peace with her.
Did Johnny Depp Address Amber Heard's Defamation Trial In New Songs?
Meanwhile, Fox News reported that Johnny Depp appeared to speak his mind about the $0 million defamation trial he was involved with his former wife, Amber Heard, through new music on the soon-to-be-released album with British guitarist Jeff Beck. The Mortdecai actor is said to release a catalog of songs on Friday called 18, with two of the ballads on the 13-track album penned by Johnny.
One line of lyrics leaked has Johnny Depp singing:
"I think you’ve said enough for one motherf---king night."
On the track called “Sad Motherf**kin’ Parade,” the former husband of Amber Heard belted out:
"You’re sitting there like a dog with a seven-year itch … If I had a dime, it wouldn’t reach your hand."
The imminent new album by Johnny Depp has reportedly been in the works for the last three years. The said EP reportedly include covers of Motown musicians, aside from their versions of some Beach Boys, Velvet Underground and John Lennon songs.
Jeff Beck shared:
"When Johnny and I started playing together, it really ignited our youthful spirit and creativity. We would joke about how we felt 18 again, so that just became the album title too."
One of Johnny Depp’s original songs is called “This Is A Song For Miss Hedy Lamarr,” which also serves as the opening track of the album. Of the said track, Jeff Beck said:
"I was blown away by it. That song is one of the reasons I asked him to make an album with me."
Although some of the songs in Johnny Depp’s forthcoming album are said to be about his court battle with Amber Heard, an unnamed source told People:
"The trial was necessary, but he is happy that it's over. Although he is relieved about the jury's verdict, he isn't gloating about it."
