Ridley isn't the only celebrity to have addressed her strtuggle with endometriosis recently. The condition, which causes tissue in the uterus to grow in other places of the body, is also battled by Girls creator and actress Lena Dunham.

In November, Dunham also shared her experience with the chronic condition in her Lenny Letter newsletter.

Most recently, author Padma Lakshmi also shared her struggle with endometriosis in her recent memoir, Love, Loss and What We Ate.

It's not the first time that Ridley has taken to Instagram to share some of her empowering words and thoughts.

In early March, The Force Awakens actress responded in quite a classy and non-criticizing way to a body-shamer who claimed "real women have curves."

In April, she also kept it real in a Force-inspired post, sharing a thing or two about what she thinks of makeup selfies.
