The end is near. The main trailer for Rurouni Kenshin: The Final has just been released and it offers a glimpse at the terror Enishi Yukishiro unleashes upon Kenshin Himura and his friends.
The trailer opens Enishi asking whether Battousai still has the scars on his cheek. It's a question that brings up one of Kenshin's dark secrets and his unfortunate connection to the terrifying villain who is wreaking havoc all over the city. However, that's not the worst that Enishi is capable of.
Kenshin knows that Enishi is after him so he reveals what happened to him in the past. He tells his friends about Enishi being the brother of his wife Tomoe, who he had stabbed to death.
The trailer offers a glimpse at Enishi and the Six Comrades' attack on Kamiya Dojo and it even looks like he has killed Sanosuke Sagara. In the end, it's still a battle between Enishi and Kenshin, who is now more determined to stop him.
It's only a brief trailer but there is little doubt that Rurouni Kenshin: The Final will adapt the Jinchu arc of the manga. With that in mind, fans should prepare for some heartbreaking moments and a spectacular duel between Kenshin and Enishi.
Rurouni Kenshin: The Final is the first half of the last two movies that have adapted Nobuhiro Watsuki's manga. The last movie, Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning, will be released later this year.
Rurouni Kenshin: The Final stars Takeru Satoh as Kenshin Himura and Mackenyu as Enishi Yukishiro. The film will premiere in Japan and the rest of Asia on April 23. A US release date has not yet been announced. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
