The end is almost here. The first teaser for the two-part Rurouni Kenshin: The Final/The Beginning has just been dropped and it pits Takeru Satoh's Battousai against Enishi Yukishiro (Mackenyu Arata).
The trailer opens with an action-packed montage of what appears to be Kenshin Himura's past. At one point, it even looks like he is fighting a younger version of Enishi but I'll probably need to take a few more looks at the teaser. Nevertheless, it quickly moves to the present where Kenshin is shown in happier times with his new friends.
Of course, things like this don't last very long for a former killer. Kenshin is immediately confronted by Enishi, who now sports his trademark grey hair. There are also teases at a greater conflict that will affect the people around Kenshin but we also get to see what could be a truly epic confrontation between him and Enishi.
In addition to the first teaser, a new poster for the two films has also been released. The image features Kenshin in his fighting stance while the city burns behind him. Check it out below.
In addition to Satoh and Arata, the films will bring back Emi Takei as Kaoru Kamiya, Munetaka Aoki as Sanosuke Sagara, Yū Aoi as Megumi Takani, Yōsuke Eguchi as Hajime Saito.
Rurouni Kenshin: The Final will premiere on July 3, 2020. It will then be followed by Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning on August 7, 2020.
