The last two movies of the Rurouni Kenshin live-action film series are finally coming next year and we now have a new image of Hitokiri Battosai announcing the official release dates of the Final Chapter.
The image was shared by the Rurouni Kenshin Movie Facebook page and it also features the official titles and release dates for the two-part Final Chapter. Check it out below.
The first film is titled Rurouni Kenshin Sai Shusho: The Final and will be released in July. It is believed that the movie will adapt Jūji Kizu no Nazo (Mystery of the Cross-Shaped Scar), which also happens to be the final part of the animated series Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal. There is a possibility that the film will introduce Yukishiro Tomoe, who plays a major role in Battosai's life.
The second movie has been titled Rurouni Kenshin Sai Shusho: The Beginning and is set to premiere in August. A previous report suggests that the film will cover Saikyō no Teki - Enishi (Most Terrifying Enemy - Enishi) and could bring in Yukishiro Enishi, Tomoe's younger brother.
Both films will feature Takeru Sato as Battosai. It is still unclear if Sato's previous co-stars Emi Takei, Munetaka Aoki, Yū Aoi, Taketo Tanaka, and Yōsuke Eguchi will return in the last two movies. Nevertheless, we're already looking forward to seeing Sato back in action next year.
Rurouni Kenshin Sai Shusho: The Final will premiere on July 3, 2020, while Rurouni Kenshin Sai Shusho: The Beginning is scheduled for release on August 7, 2020.
