Which Characters Will Appear in The Book of Boba Fett?

Next year will see several live-action Star Wars TV shows streaming on Disney+, such as The Mandalorian Season 3, Ahsoka, Andor, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, as well as the new anime show Star Wars: Visions and Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2. But before this year is up, we'll finally get to see the long-awaited spin-off series The Book of Boba Fett.

Now, with all things clones, bounty hunters, and the Fett family tree a hot topic within the fandom, and with Star Wars as a whole a popular conversation topic as ever, owing thanks also to the upcoming open-world game from Ubisoft, there's no better time to look at what characters will appear in The Book of Boba Fett, which starts streaming on Disney+ this December.

Of course, while there are characters who are confirmed to be appearing in the show, we'll also look at those who are likely to appear in the show, based on rumors, likelihood, logic, and good old-fashioned wishful thinking. So, here's our very own bounty list of characters who we might expect in the second live-action show in the Star Wars universe…

Boba Fett

The Book of Boba Fett will obviously focus on the titular bounty hunter, who we last saw lending some much-needed assistance to Din Jarin in The Mandalorian Season 2. While the plot is being kept under wraps, actor Temuera Morrison has confirmed that the series will explore Fett's past. It's possible we'll also see just how he survived the Sarlacc in Return of the Jedi.

The character has appeared in several other forms of media including the ongoing comic books, but his more notable appearances are The Empire Strikes Back, The Clone Wars, and The Mandalorian. Whether Boba will lean more towards his villainous tendencies in his own show remains to be seen. But was he ever really bad? Or is he just a man trying to make his way in the galaxy?

Fennec Shand

Ming-Na Wen will once again reprise her role as the assassin/mercenary/bounty hunter Fennec Shand in The Book of Boba Fett. While she appears in the post-credits scene alongside Boba Fett at the end of The Mandalorian Season 2, fans were unsure at the time if she would be officially returning – even if it did seem pretty obvious.

Now, the character is set to enjoy her third Star Wars TV series, has so far appeared in The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch, in which she reprised her role of Fennec Shand, as a younger and version of the character in animated form. Her role in The Book of Boba Fett is unknown, but we do know that she still holds a debt to Boba for saving her life, so will likely remain at his side.

Din Jarin

The Book of Boba Fett has been confirmed to be set within the same timeline as The Mandalorian, so we can hopefully expect some crossover episodes, whether they're in one show or the other, or both. But seeing as we've already seen Boba Fett in The Mandalorian, in which he seriously kicked some Storm Trooper butt, then it's time for Din Jarin to pay a visit to his fellow comrade.

Whether or not there will be a place for the Mandalorian in The Book of Boba Fett is an interesting question, and though the faraway galaxy is a truly vast place, somehow these characters tend to cross paths quite easily, and we'd be surprised if everyone's new favorite bounty hunter didn't end up returning the favor to Boba in his own show – or perhaps the opposite…

Ahsoka Tano

Like The Book of Boba Fett, the Ahsoka series will also occupy the same timeline as The Mandalorian, so perhaps there will be some crossover arcs we can look forward to. The character of Ahsoka Tano appeared in The Mandalorian Season 2, played by Rosario Dawson who is reprising her role, but is best known for her role in The Clone Wars voiced by Ashley Eckstein).

As showrunners have previously hinted towards a ‘culmination' between these shows, her appearance in The Book of Boba Fett is possible. Ahsoka was last seen on the planet Corvus, where Din Jarin sought her help in finding a new home for Grogu. Exactly how she might fit into the new show is unknown, but she does have ties with another Mandalorian, in the form of Bo-Katan.

Bo-Katan

Being a Mandalorian, having Bo-Katan Kryze appear in the show would be a very natural fit. The character is also set to be a possible villain-of-sorts in The Mandalorian Season 3, now that Din Jarin is in possession of the Darksaber she seeks, so that she can claim the throne of Mandalore (which clearly isn't as easy as taking over Jabba's Palace).

Bo-Katan and Boba Fett also locked horns in The Mandalorian Season 2, when the former Death Watch member mocked Fett for not being a real clone, referring to his father Jango Fett as "his donor". So it's likely there's some unfinished business between the two. Should this be the case, we'll probably see Bo-Katan's associate Koska Reeves show up too.

Chewbacca

While it's rare to see Chewbacca without his human partner Han Solo, there's a huge possibility for the Wookie to make an appearance in The Book of Boba Fett. Not only would it be easy to bring the character into the fold given that he's all costume and prosthetics, but he's also someone who often operates within the world of bounty hunting.

Han Solo might be an enemy of Boba Fett, but Harrison Ford is obviously far too old to play a younger Han Solo while casting Aldren Ehrenreich would be inconsistent with the original trilogy era, which The Book of Boba Fett will be set just years after. Deepfake, then? Preferably not – and our galactic credits are on Chewie making a welcome cameo, ammo belt, growls, and all.

Greef Karga

The character of Greef Karga, played by Carl Weathers, has been a hit with fans of The Mandalorian. Karga is the leader of the Bounty Hunters' Guild and resides on Nevarro, and though originally a somewhat morally ambiguous character, over the course of the show has grown into a more straightforward heroic-type, happy to help take down the remnants of the Empire.

But, a Bounty Hunters' Guild leader he is, and considering The Book of Boba Fett is yet another show that will focus on such lines of work, it's possible there will be a place for Karga in both shows. Carl Weathers also directed The Mandalorian Season 2's "Chapter 12: The Siege", so even if he doesn't actually show up in Boba Fett's show, he may lend his directorial talents.

Clone Force 66

While we're yet to see how The Bad Batch will unfold, especially now that the show has been commissioned for a second series (which we're not complaining about), it's difficult to determine which members of Clone Force 66 will survive and live until a ripe old age. After all, there has been no other mention of them in canon beyond the show's current position on the timeline.

That, however, can be rectified in The Book of Boba Fett. It's easy to forget that Boba himself is a clone, so having Hunter, Wrecker, Echo, Tech, or even Crosshair, make an appearance in the live-action show wouldn't feel at all out of place and would provide for some interesting dynamics, considering the team's close ties with Omega, whose real identity you probably know by now.

Omega

Perhaps the most speculated of surprise characters who might appear in The Book of Boba Fett is Omega from Star Wars: The Batch, the hit animated show on Disney+. Following the reveal of the young Kaminoan clone's true identity, in that she was genetically engineered from the original clone Jango Fett, fans are now wondering whether she'll show up in live-action form.

Omega is, after all, long lost sister to Boba Fett, who was also made from Jango Fett and was even given the designation Alpha. In fact, other than Boba himself and Fennec Shand, having Omega appear in the show makes more sense than anyone else on this list, and anything to the contrary is likely to leave fans of the character – of which there are many – very disappointed.

Honorable mentions include Hondo Ohnaka, the Weequay pirate and outlaw who has appeared numerous times in The Clone Wars and Rebels, and loathsome Trandoshian bounty hunter Bossk, who has ties with a young Boba Fett in The Clone Wars and has also appeared in The Empire Strikes Back. But perhaps there will be some real surprises (although we won't roll out the red carpet for Jar Jar Binks!).

The Book of Boba Fett finished filming in June 2021 and will start streaming sometime on Disney+ in December. In the meantime, you can stream all things Star Wars on Disney+, including the prequel trilogy, original trilogy, sequel trilogy, and all the shows.
