Hayden Christensen will forever be celebrated by Star Wars fans for his portrayal of Anakin Skywalker in the prequel trilogy but to some people, Star Wars: The Clone Wars voice actor Matt Lanter is their definitive version of the fan-favorite Jedi-turned-Sith. Lanter's exuberant take on Anakin differed from Christensen's acting which is why he gained quite the cult following as well.

Following The Clone Wars' successful run which spanned seven seasons, it seemed like Lanter's Star Wars journey has also come to a close but apparently, a new chapter is about to unfold for him as he confirmed that he's once again been tapped by Lucasfilm to return as Anakin in a future Star Wars animated project.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lanter excitingly shared his involvement in an upcoming Lucasfilm project which will see him reprise his Anakin role. In fact, he's already done voice work for the undisclosed projects. "There's some new Lucasfilm Animation going on. I've been a part of some things I can't talk about yet. You'll see Anakin again. I never quite put Anakin down, whether I'm doing a video game or something new for Lucasfilm Animation," Lanter shared.

Now, with Christensen's upcoming return to the franchise to play Darth Vader in the standalone Obi-Wan series, it's safe to assume that Lanter will voice Anakin in a project set before the events of the sequel trilogy. But since The Clone Wars has already concluded, which project could his version of Anakin turn up in? An appearance in The Bad Batch is also a possibility but we'll just have to wait and see.

Speaking of, Star Wars: The Bad Batch will begin streaming on May 4th, 2021.
