There's no doubt that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the premier film franchise right now and Marvel Studios is reaping the rewards of years of intricate planning and storytelling through standalone films that would culminate in an epic crossover event. Unsurprisingly, Warner Bros. has tried to replicate the MCU's success through the DC Extended Universe but despite several attempts, they've yet to topple their biggest rival.

Even Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman writer David S. Goyer is impressed with how Kevin Feige oversees the MCU and according to him, it's one of the main reasons that makes the Marvel film franchise better than DC. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Blade Trinity director said that one of the key factors hurting the DCEU is its inconsistency in terms of leadership.

Goyer explains: "I think one of the issues is that Marvel's had consistent leadership for the last 15 years or more, whereas DC hasn't. There have been all of these changes in terms of who is running DC. That is fundamentally very hard. It's hard to make any headway when leadership is changing."

I totally agree with Goyer's sentiments but I would also like to add that WB and DC Film's executives not seeing eye-to-eye with its directors is also one of the reasons why the DCEU can't seem to keep up with its only competition. To be fair, DC's recent releases have been pretty solid for the most part and all they need to do really is to find a way to stay consistent and maybe, be more in touch with what the fans actually want instead of it being the other way around. It isn't that hard to do.

Meanwhile, HBO Max is reportedly working on a Superman project produced by Michael B. Jordan.
