To many fans, Marvel and DC have always been seen as major rivals in the world of entertainment and for years now, a lot of people have been clamoring to see an epic crossover event between the two media juggernauts on the big screen. Sure, there have been several Marvel and DC crossovers in the comics and other media but could you imagine the Marvel Cinematic Universe going head-to-head with the DC Extended Universe?

That would be a treat to see and even director James Gunn believes that it will be a blockbuster hit should it actually happen. However, one of the actors from Gunn's upcoming The Suicide Squad project doesn't seem all that thrilled with the possibility. Captain Boomerang actor Jai Courtney straight up shut down the potential during a recent interview.

When asked by Jakes Takes about their dream MCU characters to work with, several cast members, including Joel Kinnaman, Margot Robbie, and Nathan Fillion gave their respective answers. However, Courtney made it very clear that he's not in any way interested in seeing a crossover happening and simply said: "F*ck Marvel" followed by a laugh.

As promising as it sounds, it's highly unlikely that Disney and Warner Bros. will be able to come to an agreement to do a crossover because let's face it, despite both studios' denial, the rivalry between the two film franchises is still quite evident. Maybe one day it could actually happen but definitely not anytime soon.

The Suicide Squad is scheduled for a limited theatrical release on August 5, 2021. It will also be available on the same day on HBO Max.
