Yumi's Cells is a cell-based psychological romance drama based on a hit webtoon about an ordinary office worker named Yumi. The series tells the perspective of the protagonist's brain cells that control her thoughts, feelings, and movements.
For the first time in the history of Korean dramas, Yumi's Cells will be produced using a new format that combines live-action and 3D animation, piquing interest from viewers all around the world.

Yumi's Cells episode 2 sees Yumi (Kim Go Eun) preparing herself to meet up with Woo Gi (SHINee Minho) at the flower festival. However, Yumi finds out that Ruby also arrived at the park and tries to stray away from her with her wish to not have her date with Woo Gi ruined. When Yumi sees Woo Gi, she immediately brings him somewhere far for lunch.
Instead of a romantic scene over lunch, Woo Gi unconsciously clarifies his gestures towards Yumi which had the latter in sleepless nights. Far from what Yumi's cells had expected, Woo Gi actually has no romantic feelings for Yumi aside from admiration as a senior colleague.

Rather than dating Yumi, Woo Gi is actually interested in setting her up on a blind date with someone he knows. As Yumi tries to swallow her tears, she agrees to the blind date and rushes to the restroom to let out her true emotions.
On the other hand, Yumi and Goo Woong (Ahn Bo Hyun) finally meet each other. Compared to Yumi who faithfully prepared for the blind date, Goo Woong dressed up casually as if he is just about to go for a morning walk.
Goo Woong seems to be stunned by Yumi's presence that he made himself look like a fool, according to his own cells. After a couple of minutes not knowing what to do, the two decided to go to the nearest coffee shop and continue on with their date.
