Lovers of the Red Sky episode 6 sees Hong Cheon Gi (Kim Yoo Jung) making her way into the final round of the Maejukheon Painting Contest. Even though her master stops her from continuing the contest, she stands on her own as he wants to prove her worth as a painter. Also, winning the contest might help her provide the medicine that her father needs.
On the night before the third round, Hong Cheon Gi meets Ha Ram (Ahn Hyo Seop) at a stable. They went on a horse ride and both found themselves at a place they once went when they were still children. Hong Cheon Gi believes that the person in front of her is the Ha Ram she met when she was young, however, the latter refuses to admit the truth. This is because Ha Ram has a special mission to accomplish and he cannot let anything or anyone affect his plans.
Disappointed, Hong Cheon Gi tries to composition herself before the third round's beginning. Her paintings were far different compared to the other professional painters and it was rather hard to interpret her works especially without proper knowledge and emotion to the art.
Thankfully, Prince Yangmyeong (Gong Myung) succeeds to see what Hong Cheon Gi wants to convey through her painting and she won the contest. As Hong Cheon Gi once heard that the prince grants a wish to the winner, she did not hesitate to spoke her desire to find the special medicine that can cure her father.
Prince Yangmyeong wholeheartedly accepts Hong Cheon Gi's wish. While the young woman was about to ready herself home, her father suddenly creates a commotion.
