Is Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 All About Gojo?
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 begins adapting the Hidden Inventory manga arc. This is a flashback arc that focuses on Satoru Gojo's past in Jujutsu High with Suguru Geto.
So far, all trailers for Season 2 of the shounen anime have only shown the young Gojo's arc, making it easy to assume that this is all we're getting.
But as much as we love Gojo, it would be disappointing not to see the story progressing. Thankfully, this won't be the case.
Will Yuji Appear in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2?
Newly updated information from the official Jujutsu Kaisen website confirms that Yuji Itadori will indeed appear in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
After Season 2 finishes adapting the Hidden Inventory arc, we will travel back to the past to start following Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, and the rest of the squad.
Fans had been worried about whether or not Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen is going to cover the Shibuya Incident.
Now we know for sure that the anime will return to Yuji's quest to defeat Sukuna very soon.
In Which Episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Will Yuji Appear?
We expect Yuji to appear in the episode that will air on August 31, 2023.
Depending on how the show will choose to number its episodes, this will most likely be Episode 6 or 8 of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
After the end of the Hidden Inventory arc, a recap of it and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will follow. Then, we'll have a Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 recap episode.
Finally, the Shibuya arc will begin on August 31, 2023, after a week-long break.
It's currently unclear whether the recap episodes will count toward Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2's episode count.
We won't spoil anything about Yuji's continuing arc here, but we do expect him to eat many more Sukuna fingers.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2's Timeline Explained
It isn't very common for an anime season to start with a 5-episode flashback, but Jujutsu Kaisen and Gojo are cool enough to get away with it. Here's a breakdown of the timeline:
- July 6 to August 3: Hidden Inventory Arc
- August 10: Recap of the Hidden Inventory Arc and the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie
- August 17: Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 Recap
- August 24: Week-long break
- August 31: Start of the Shibuya Incident Arc
Therefore, we can expect to be reunited with Yuji on August 31.
