XO, Kitty has shot up to becoming the Top 1 most streamed series on the streamer, frankly because of the unexpected twist that came by the end of Season 1.
The spinoff series of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before franchise has definitely hooked fans into wanting to know more of what happens next to Kitty and Min Ho, considering the ending's cliffhanger.
Well, now with that kind of ending, anybody could easily expect that an XO, Kitty Season 2 must be in order, right? Here’s what we know about the potential season two!

Good news! Netflix has just renewed XO, Kitty Season 2! Confirmed on June 14, 2023, the spinoff just got greenlit for a second season. Check out the streamer's announcement below:

While XO, Kitty Season 2 has been renewed, Netflix has yet to confirm when the second season is coming onto the streamer.

XO, Kitty Season 2 could potentially take a while before coming back, especially considering that series creator Jenny Han is still supporting the ongoing writer’s strike with the WGA (via Deadline):

“This moment is bigger than me, it’s bigger than the shows. And what’s at stake is the future of writers and our ability to keep telling stories and we are asking for fair compensation.”

The WGA strike continues to strive forward as Hollywood writers gather their picket signs, refusing to work on any film and series unless they get their fair compensation and job security.

It remains to be seen how long the writers’ strike will occur, but this does mess with the potential release date for XO, Kitty Season 2. Our guess is as good as yours.

Since XO, Kitty Season 1 debuted on May 18, 2023, it is likely for their return to be sometime between 2024-2025.

For now, we’ll have to wait for Netflix and Jenny Han to get to filming first.

XO, Kitty Season 1 saw the ending of the long-running love story between Kitty and Dae.
Apart from Kitty still uncovering whether she’s bisexual or pansexual, she confessed to Dae how she started liking Yuri.

So, this eliminates the possibility of seeing Choi Min-Yeong (Dae) return. Although he could return as a brief appearance for still accepting Kitty as just his friend, Netflix has yet to address this.
Also, since Season 2 is likely to focus on the growing love story between Kitty and Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee), this could likely remove other prominent characters we were introduced to in Season 1.

This includes Anthony Keyvan (Quincy ‘Q’), Jocelyn Shelfo (Madison Miller), and Théo Augier Bonaventure (Florian).

Q, Florian, and Dae could still come back to resolve some issues (what with Florian cheating the test, kicking Dae out of being top of the class and his scholarship), but could it be big enough for XO, Kitty Season 2 continue this story?

While nothing has been confirmed yet, here is a list of cast members we are likely to see return for XO, Kitty Season 2:

  • Anna Cathcart as Kitty
  • Sang Heon Lee as Min Ho
  • Gia Kim as Yuri
  • Regan Aliyah as Juliana
  • John Corbett as Dr. Covey
  • Sarayu Blue as Trina

If Jenny Han plans on repeating the story of what To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before told, then it is possible for Kitty to encounter more than one love interest.

If XO, Kitty Season 1 featured Kitty pursuing Dae all the way to KISS in Korea, now that she and Min Ho are literally heading the same direction, then XO, Kitty Season 2 will introduce a livelier love story between these two.

With Kitty getting expelled from KISS, this removed any opportunity for her to discover more about her late mother Eve Song’s high school life.

So an XO, Kitty Season 2 could expand this search, especially since Kitty discovered another potential first love on her mother’s list: Simon.

Considering that all Min Ho did throughout Season 1 was tease and make fun of Kitty, Season 2 beholds a much more intimate and deeper relationship between them.

After all, this will be Min Ho's first attempt trying to navigate a serious relationship, as compared to his history of flings.

Meanwhile, Kitty uncovering her sexuality would expand more on how she reacts to new things, along with Min Ho, who has seemingly never dated bisexual, pansexual, or even gender fluid women.

Depending on whether Jenny Han plans on still exploring Yuri and Juliana’s relationship and characters, they could show up in Season 2 if they do end up flying somewhere in the United States or L.A, where Min Ho plans to visit his mother.

Yuri could end up as some plot device in which Kitty would require some closure over Yuri being the first girl she ever liked while venturing off about what her true sexuality is.

Do take note these are mere speculations for what XO, Kitty Season 2 could be about. We’ll have to wait for official updates about the synopsis from Jenny Han and Netflix.
