The only official announcement regarding the film that can be found online is a 2017 announcement that Kristin Chenoweth has been cast in a Broadway musical adaptation of the film. And even so, the musical adaptation has not yet become a reality.

But it's possible that production companies will decide to do a remake or reboot once enough people show their interest in the film. So far, however, Death Becomes Her remake is nothing but a rumor.

In 2017, it was announced that the classic Death Becomes Her film is getting a Broadway musical adaptation. But it's been five years and even the musical has not yet been released.

The original movie, released in 1992, starred Goldie Hawn (as Helen) and Meryl Streep (as Madeline) as frenemies who are in love with one man, Ernest Menville (played by Bruce Willis).

Years after her divorce with Ernest, Helen publishes a book with a photo looking young and vibrant. Madeline later discovers that Helen took an immortality serum. She is able to acquire the serum and the two continue their feud for eternity.

One possible reason why so many are hoping for the film to get a reboot is because of the A-list actors that have been attached to the project.

In the latest list, the Death Becomes Her reboot cast is reportedly said to include the following actors:

• Kate Hudson (as Helen)
• Anne Hathaway (as Madeline)
• Robert Downey Jr. (as Ernest)
• Lady Gaga (as Lisle Von Rhuman)
