Now that spooky season has arrived, Netflix has a bunch of titles coming in October 2022, both scary and not so scary. While fans will have to wait longer for some of the biggest titles announced at the Tudum 2022 virtual event, the streaming giant has enough new original films and TV shows to satisfy your entertainment cravings this October, so let's highlight some titles before we take a look at the full schedule.
In Paul Feig's family blockbuster The School for Good and Evil, best friends Sophie and Agatha find themselves on opposing sides of an epic battle when they're swept away into a magical school where aspiring heroes and villains are trained to protect the balance between good and evil. The film, which stars Charlize Theron and Kerry Washington, is set to premiere on Oct. 19.
Other major movies debuting on Netflix in October are the medical thriller The Good Nurse starring Academy Award winners Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain, the Mila Kunis led movie Luckiest Girl Alive, the retelling of All Quiet on the Western Front starring Daniel Bruhl, and Wendell & Wild starring Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.
As for Netflix original TV shows, Mike Flanagan's latest horror series The Midnight Club is coming on Oct. 7. The show's synopsis reads: "At a manor with a mysterious history, eight members of the Midnight Club meet each night at midnight to tell sinister stories -- and to look for signs of the supernatural from the beyond."
Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan's The Watcher is set to release on Oct. 13, and it stars Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale. The limited series follows the true story of a married couple who, after moving into their dream home in New Jersey, are harassed through letters signed by a stalker known as The Watcher.
On Oct. 24, Guillermo del Toro's horror anthology series Cabinet of Curiosities will release eight episodes of sinister stories. October will also bring the return of fan-favorite series such as Nailed It, Big Mouth, Barbarians, and Family Reunion.
