I think we can all agree that Marvel Studios has had plenty of "money" signings over the last couple of years and even the biggest A-list stars in Hollywood want in on the Marvel Cinematic Universe which no longer comes as a surprise. One actor the fans have been hoping to see in the billion-dollar franchise is Anne Hathaway who is best known by comic book film diehards for her portrayal of Catwoman in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rise opposite Christian Bale.
Bale is actually making his debut in Thor: Love and Thunder as the villainous Gorr the God Butcher and now, according to a new rumor, Hathaway will soon follow suit as an MCU gig is reportedly in her future. The good folks over Giant Freakin Robot have reported that the Selina Kyle actress is headed to the MCU to play a major role. However, the specifics of her rumored casting weren't disclosed.

Anne would definitely be a good addition to the ever-expanding MCU and I certainly hope that the rumors are true. The real question is, which character will she end up playing? Obviously, there are loads of potential heroes and villains for her to take on but personally, I would love to see her join the mutants. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how everything will play out.
Meanwhile, Thor: Love and Thunder is slated to premiere on July 8, 2022.
