GOTG's Elizabeth Debicki Joins Christoper Nolan's Next Film

Elizabeth Debicki made her mark in the MCU by playing the Sovereign leader Ayesha, and it looks like she's going to be starring in the next big film from Hollywood legend Christopher Nolan.

According to Variety, Debicki has been cast as the female lead for Nolan's upcoming (yet unnamed) movie. She'll be joining a cast which will be led by both John David Washington (BlacKkKlansman) and Robert Pattinson (Twilight).

The movie is set for a 2020 release and is described to be a "massive, innovative, action blockbuster," so we should expect something a bit different from Nolan's latest fares like Interstellar or Dunkirk.

There's actually speculation going around that Nolan is actually working on the Green Lantern Corps movie. The two male leads could easily be Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart with Debicki playing Star Sapphire a.k.a. Carol Ferris. There's also word that the movie is looking for an older male co-star and who could that be but Sinestro?

Then again, the movie is set to start production soon and is aiming for a 2020 release date. With a superhero film that is expected to have a lot of CG, they should at least be aiming for a 2021 premiere—not unless Nolan is working on a low-budget, practical GL movie that is.

For now, everyone's speculation is as good as anyone's. Personally, I'm just waiting for a project to top Inception which was easily the last cinematic high for Nolan. I mean, Interstellar and Dunkirk were great, but who even talks about those films anymore?

Catch Nolan's next project when it comes out July 17, 2020.
