The new trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now upon us and, yes, it looks like Patrick Stewart is confirmed to be making his return as Charles Xavier. While the closed caption of the trailer only credited him as "Mystery Voice," we do know that it is obviously Stewart's voice and it is in alignment with the rumors and leaks months ago that he will be showing in the upcoming film to reprise the role of Charles Xavier.
So far, Marvel Studios hasn't confirmed that the mystery voice in the trailer is indeed Stewart although everyone has recognized it at this point since he has one of the most iconic voices and we became familiar with it thanks to his works like Star Trek: The Next Generation, the X-Men films, and American Dad. A lot of fans are now celebrating the triumphant return of Stewart as teased in the trailer and there's no doubt that it was one of the moments that they lost their minds at.
Here are some of the tweets from fans reacting to Stewart's appearance in the latest trailer:
Now that it's confirmed that Stewart will be appearing in the upcoming film, it poses a lot of important questions: Why is he in the film? Is he going to appear as a Charles Xavier variant from the Fox X-Men universe? Is he appearing as the leader of the Illuminati (as the rumors suggested)? How big his role in the film is going to be? There are a lot of questions that come with this appearance, but we won't know the answer until the release of another trailer or the film itself.
Nevertheless, it was awesome to see Stewart again back on the role especially since we thought that he already made his goodbye to the character in 2017's Logan. But of course, with the multiverse, anything is now possible. With his appearance, Stewart is going to break another Guinness World Record for having the longest career as a live-action Marvel character, beating Tobey Maguire and Willem Dafoe who earned it when they appeared recently in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
With Marvel Studios teasing Stewart's appearance in the upcoming film, it indicates that there may be more cameo appearances that are in store that they are still keeping from us for now. We're only just a few months away before we find out all the answers and the hype is now bigger than ever.
