Which MCU Movies and TV Series Does Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania Set Up?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is, indeed, a masterpiece from one project to another. It is all connected and miss one title, that could have an effect on the next one that you'd watch. It's a genius move, really, and here's what Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania sets up.

Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania is just the beginning of a roller coaster ride in the MCU and it is actually fitting that it is the opener of Phase Five because clearly, it sets up a lot of Marvel movies and TV shows that are about to come out soon.

With MCU Phase Four being an introduction and reintroduction of heroes, and the aftermath of Endgame, Phase Five officially starts a new chapter in the MCU as the main villain of the Multiverse Saga that would run up to Phase Six has just been introduced in Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania: Kang.

Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania Sets Up Loki Season 2

One of the two post-credit scenes of Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania actually has Loki and Mobius in it which is a direct hint that the movie is setting up the events of Loki Season 2 where they meet Victor Timely in a trip back to the 1900s.

In the end-credits scene of Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania, everyone is taken back to a 1900s theater where Victor Timely introduces his invention, the Temporal Marvel, which looks like a time travel machine. Temporal means time, and in his pitch, he sells it as if anyone can take control of time itself.

Loki is extremely afraid of Victor Timely knowing that he may be the variant that He Who Remains warned them about but Mobius isn't even bothered. Remember that in Loki, Loki ended up in an alternate reality where the TVA is actually led by Kang and he meets Mobius who has absolutely no idea who Loki is.

Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania Sets Up Secret Invasion

In a blink-or-miss-it detail, in the mid-credits scene of Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania, when the Council of Kangs were introduced and variants of him started showing up, there is actually a Skrull Kang among them and Skrulls play a huge role in upcoming series, Secret Invasion.

In Secret Invasion, the Skrulls, a shape-shifting race, are secretly replacing various people, including country leaders and even the superheroes, which is part of their long-term plan of invading Earth. Could it be that the plan is from another Kang variant?

The presence of a Skrull Kang only means that the invasion on Earth could have something to do with a plot of the Council of Kangs against the superheroes given that they already got their introduction on the multiverse and are already involved in it like in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania Sets Up Fantastic Four Reboot

It boils down to the leader of the Fantastic Four, Reed Richards, and before Kang became Kang, he was Nathaniel Richards first, and of course, the connection is already drawn with Reed Richards being from the same ancestry as the villain.

Reed Richards must be related to Kang, right? While it remains a mystery whether they are siblings or something else, in the MCU, there's no coincidence when it comes to same names because usually, they are from the same lineage.

This is also the importance of Fantastic Four having a reboot in the setting of the MCU. With Kang being the main villain of the Multiverse Saga, Marvel's first family plays a huge role in the future of the franchise going forward. Also, this is where Doctor Doom could potentially show up!

It's a no-brainer, actually. With the introduction of Kang The Conqueror and the Council of Kangs in the post-credits scene, the groundwork for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has already been laid down in Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania.

The title, itself, of the penultimate movie of the Multiverse Saga bears the name of Kang. It's an easy connection between the two but what makes it quite tricky is that it is not Kang The Conqueror who may be The Kang Dynasty that the title is talking about, but rather, his variants.

Being described as a movie similar to Infinity War where Thanos won and the superheroes lost, The Kang Dynasty may mark the Council of Kangs reaching their end goal and without Kang The Conqueror, the variant they are all scared of, their plan is already set in place in Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania.

Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania Sets Up Avengers: Secret Wars

Partnered up with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is none other than the finale of the Multiverse Saga, Avengers: Secret Wars and considering that this is the story where the current narrative is heading, Kang The Conqueror being eliminated in Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania already brings out theories.

Speculations arise the demise of Kang The Conqueror in Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania on whether he is really dead but it is a cardinal rule in the MCU that when there is no body to confirm that one is dead, they are not actually dead but may just end up somewhere else.

The theory goes like this: Kang The Conqueror is alive and is somewhere in the vast multiverse within the Quantum Realm, possibly the Quantum Nexus, and his presence and vengeance would be felt when Avengers: Secret Wars comes out. That's a cool one, right?

While this project hasn't been announced yet, the members of the Young Avengers are already being introduced one by one and Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania has Cassie Lang in the center of it. She is one of the possible members of the team adapting the moniker of Stature.

Along with Cassie who are already in the MCU are Kate Bishop from Hawkeye, Riri Williams from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Billy and Tommy a.k.a. Wiccan and Speed from WandaVision, Eli Bradley as Patriot from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, America Chavez from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Kid Loki from Loki, and Hulkling from She-Hulk: Attorney At Law.
