We already know that Ben Affleck reprises his role as the DCEU’s Batman/Bruce Wayne in The Flash. So, what about the other members of the Justice League? What happened to the Justice League in The Flash movie?

In The Flash, Barry goes back in time to prevent his mother’s death. In doing so, he creates an alternate timeline and completely breaks the universe.

So, what happened to the Justice League in The Flash movie? This article explains what happened to the Justice League in both the present-day timeline and the alternate timeline in The Flash.

The Flash

Present-day timeline: Barry Allen/The Flash calls himself the “janitor” of the Justice League and emphasizes that he always ends up cleaning a “Bat” mess.

Barry has been frustrated about the justice system and how it failed his dad, Henry Allen. Later on, when Barry realizes that the best evidence they have for proving his father’s innocence won’t work in their favor, Barry time travels.

Despite warnings from Bruce about the consequences of time travel, Barry goes back in time to save his mother. This results in unintended consequences, with Barry creating an alternate timeline.

Alternate timeline: In the alternate timeline, Barry meets a younger version of himself. This alternate version doesn’t get his powers yet because he doesn’t pursue a career in criminal forensics.

Thus, young Barry couldn’t be in a forensics lab where he gets struck by lightning. Later on, young Barry gets his powers with the help of the original Barry.

It is later revealed that young Barry is Dark Flash, which came to be after the latter tries to save their mother multiple times.

Wonder Woman

Present-day timeline: Wonder Woman helps in the “robbery gone wrong” in Gotham City. Gal Gadot’s cameo isn’t much of a surprise because Ben Affleck already revealed details about this scene months ago.

In the robbery gone wrong, Batman catches the bad guy holding a briefcase that could wipe out half of Gotham if it falls into the water. Batman uses his grapple gun, but he almost falls.

Wonder Woman arrives to save him using her Lasso of Truth. She apologizes for being late and compliments The Flash for looking good in his suit.

Wonder Woman then says that she has to run and that it’s always a pleasure to help.

Alternate timeline: In the alternate timeline, Barry tries to look for the members of the Justice League to help him save that world from General Zod. He tries to google Wonder Woman, but only finds a performer called “The Wonder Woman”.

As to what happened to this member of the Justice League in the alternate timeline in The Flash, Diana Prince/Wonder Woman probably doesn’t exist (like Aquaman, as discussed below) or she never left Themyscira, so no one knows about her.

Present-day timeline: Before Barry messes things up, Ben Affleck’s Batman, the DCEU Batman, was Barry’s mentor. After Barry first travels back in time and tells Bruce about his abilities, the latter warns him about the consequences of time travel.

Bruce tells Barry that the scars we have make us who we are and that he doesn’t have to go back and fix them. He then tells Barry to take it from a guy who made many mistakes.

Later on, after Barry messes up with the timeline, he no longer sees Ben Affleck’s Batman. He receives a call from “Bruce Wayne”, but the one who later on appears is George Clooney’s Batman.

So, it appears that in Barry’s timeline now, Batman is no longer Ben Affleck’s version.

Alternate timeline: In the alternate timeline, Barry tries to find the Batman of that world, but instead of seeing Ben Affleck’s Batman, he sees a different version of the hero.

Barry meets Michael Keaton’s Batman, a version of the hero that has already retired. Michael Keaton’s Batman explains that things changed and that Gotham is safe already.

Barry asks for his help to find Superman, and Keaton’s Batman decides to help. Later on, he joins forces with the two versions of The Flash and Supergirl to defeat General Zod and his troops.

But sadly, Keaton’s Batman dies. He first chooses to sacrifice himself while trying to blow up Zod’s largest ship.

Young Barry/alternate Barry goes back in time to prevent Batman’s death, but the latter still dies after taking a beating from one of Zod’s soldiers.

Barry realizes that they can no longer bring Keaton’s Batman back, and the latter responds “You already did.”

Superman

Present-day timeline: In the present-day timeline, we see Superman on a television screen helping in a volcanic eruption in Guatemala.

In the television footage, Superman is flying around the volcano using his heat vision. This explains why Superman is not in the “robbery gone wrong” in Gotham City.

Alternate timeline: Among the Justice League members, what happened to Superman in the alternate timeline in The Flash is unfortunate.

In the alternate timeline, Superman is not alive. When Supergirl/Kara Zor-El fights with General Zod, the latter reveals that he found Kal-El and intercepted his pod, but he wasn’t who they needed.

Supergirl yells, “What did you do?” and General Zod responds, “The infant did not survive.”

This explains why in the alternate timeline, the Kryptonian Barry finds in the Siberian black site is Supergirl, not Superman.

Present-day timeline: Ray Fisher’s Cyborg does not appear in The Flash movie. However, we do know what happened to this Justice League member in the alternate timeline in The Flash.

Alternate timeline: In the alternate timeline, Barry searches for Victor Stone online and finds out that he’s a “star quarterback for the Knights.” Thus, he’s not Cyborg yet.

Aquaman

Present-day timeline: After Barry changes things in the timeline, he meets up with a drunk Arthur Curry/Aquaman and tells him about his experience with the multiverse.

In The Flash post-credits scene, Barry helps a drunk Arthur out of a bar and explains that there are many versions of Batman and that they are all Bruce Wayne, but each of them was a completely different person.

However, as for Aquaman, they are all the same guy, “lovable” and “furry”. Barry then tries to explain what happened in his timeline, but Arthur falls into a puddle.

Barry tells Arthur to get up, but the latter demands more beer. Arthur then gives Barry his ring, which is some Atlantean treasure, so that he could get more beer.

Alternate timeline: In the alternate timeline, Barry calls Arthur’s father (Thomas/Tom Curry) and asks to speak with his son.

Tom responds, “You wanna speak to my dog?” Barry asks if his wife is the Queen of Atlantis, and Tom responds “No.” Later on, Tom hangs up and Barry realizes that Arthur Curry was never born.

Additionally, it must be noted that a drunk Arthur is not the last time we will see the character because we still have Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (Aquaman 2) to look forward to this year.
