After six long years, something a lot of MCU fans (myself included) have been waiting to see and hear finally happened. WandaVision's eighth episode officially made Wanda Maximoff's superhero alias canon. Yes, we can now refer to Elizabeth Olsen's Marvel Cinematic Universe character as the one and only Scarlet Witch.

Episode 8 is one hell of an emotional roller coaster ride and I can even dare say that it's the best one yet. Titled "Previously On", the episode explores the true identity of the show's true villain Agatha Harkness and her dark magic while giving viewers a better understanding of Wanda's mental and emotional trauma which dates back to her childhood.

The episode pretty much serves as a "rerun" of Maximoff's life — from her unleashing her powers as a kid all the way to her "accidental" creation of the hex aka her pocket reality. Interestingly, we finally learn what Agatha's true intentions are and that is to find out how exactly Maximoff was able to master her abilities.

During the final sequence of the episode, as Wanda tries to save her twins Billy and Tommy, Agatha tells a clueless Maximoff that she has everything figured out. Agatha reveals that all the things Wanda created in her pocket reality aren't what they seem. Everything was the end result of her ability to use chaos magic which leads to the revelation that she is the "Scarlet Witch".

We all knew from the get-go that the show will feature Wanda's transition to becoming the Scarlet Witch and even actress Elizabeth Olsen confirmed in previous interviews that her character will finally be referred to by her comic alias. I actually find it cool that the name has some backstory to it and as it turns out, it's not just a random moniker Maximoff came up with.

WandaVision's latest episode is now streaming on Disney+.
