We're just a couple of days away from WandaVision's highly anticipated premiere and one of its lead stars Elizabeth Olsen has begun promo mode for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first offering since 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Olsen appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about the MCU project, as well as her involvement in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. A lot of theories have been circulating online as to why the show looks and feels the way it does but according to the Scarlet Witch actress, even if WandaVision includes tons of easter eggs and nods to the comics, they would only go "way above my head".
One of the biggest assumptions of fans about the series is that it will be loosely based on the iconic X-Men comic arc House of M but the 31-year-old actress surprisingly debunked the theory. The idea started after fans spotted a wine bottle in the trailer which is labeled Maison du Mepris which apparently translates to "House of Misery". It could also be a tease to the appearance of the villain Mephisto.
Talking about the wild theory, Elizabeth laughed it off and said: "Our prop guy Russel would be a very, very clever man if he put that in." Of course, this could only mean that she's trying to avoid saying 'spoilery' stuff but that's not to say that what she said wasn't true and WandaVision could end up being its own original story.
The official synopsis for WandaVision reads:
Marvel Studios' WandaVision blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
Consisting of nine episodes, WandaVision will premiere this January 15, 2021, only on Disney+.
