WandaVision will have commercials tailored fit for the Marvel Cinematic Universe with easter eggs and references connecting to previous movies as revealed by Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige in a press conference for WandaVision. He added that the commercials will not be promoting brands or products but will be featuring special characters and events not only tied up with Wanda and Vision but the whole MCU. The commercials will have the 50s or 60s style and surely, eagle-eyed fans would recognize the scenes.
WandaVision is set to have a classic sitcom format with some scenes involving a live studio audience. The commercials would pair up with the format and bring the audience back in time as if the show is made in the 60s.
The series would open Phase Four of Marvel Cinematic Universe and would be the first Marvel Studios series to appear on Disney+, promising a new age of storytelling. WandaVision will serve as the kick-off installment of the fourth phase and with the commercials intertwined with the MCU, it offers the viewers a unique television experience, an element to look out for, and could be a staple for future films in the MCU.
WandaVision follows the story of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) after the agonizing events of Avengers Infinity War and Endgame. Together with Vision (Paul Bettany), who is strangely alive, the couple ventures into the suburbs where life is bizarre and neighbors are intriguing – a whole new reality seemingly created by Wanda from her powers. The series will include new faces with Anges (Kathryn Hann) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Paris). Recurring characters such as Darcy Lewis (Kat Jennings) and FBI Agent Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) leave fans puzzled on how their roles would play a part in the whole story.
WandaVision premieres Friday, January 15, 2021, on Disney+.
