Some of us all saw it coming from a mile away but Evan Peters' grand debut in WandaVision as Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver in last week's jaw-dropping episode was still a shocking moment. Of course, it's still unclear if he's indeed playing a retconned version of Pietro in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or he'll end up being revealed as the show's potential main baddie Mephisto.
The fan reception for Peters' MCU debut has been generally positive and while there are people that would've liked to see Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Pietro make his return from the dead, a lot of viewers were still pretty pleased to see the X-Men star finally crossover to the MCU.
We've yet to see how the dynamic will be between Evans and co-star Elizabeth Olsen but judging by their brief interaction during Episode 5's ending sequence, I can already feel a strong connection between the two.
Now, digital artist Arkin Tyagi is giving Marvel fans a little taste of how things would be like if Evan remained in the franchise as Quicksilver. Taking to his Instagram account, the artist unveiled his amazing artwork featuring Wanda in her potential new suit and Pietro in his classic comic book colors. Check it out here:
Now, you may still be so confused as to why Aaron didn't reprise his role as Pietro. WandaVision's previous episode explains that Wanda can only bring in "real" people to Westview and she has no ability to resurrect people who are already dead. As for Vision, Wanda was able to bring him "back to life" because she used the synthezoid's corpse.
Honestly, I've always preferred Evan over Aaron and I believe his Quicksilver was stuck in the wrong franchise. I totally wouldn't mind if Marvel Studios decides to keep him on board as Pietro although it's becoming more and more evident that he could be playing someone else. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
WandaVision drops new episodes every Friday on Disney+.
