Vinland Saga Season 2 Kicks Into High Gear After Slow Start
While the first season also started fairly slow, the action quickly picked up when Thorfinn joined Askeladd’s crew.
Since that pivotal moment, the anime was filled with lots of incredibly animated action scenes featuring Thorfinn.
Season 2 also started slow, but it was arguably even slower as it followed Thorfinn and a new character named Einar as they get to grips with their lives as slaves.
Their situation may not be as bad as other slaves given that they have a path to buying their freedom, but they still face a lot of hardships. After all, many folks still view them with contempt.
The latest events saw some farmhands destroying Einar and Thorfinn's crops. In response, Einar picks a fight with the farmhands, and this forces Thorfinn to throw his first punch, breaking his vow of not fighting.
What follows is a harrowing sequence inside Thorfinn’s mind where he comes to grips with the meaning of his father’s words, as well as the nature of warriors and the pointlessness of violence.
