How Old Is Thorfinn?
The main protagonist of Vinland Saga is Thorfinn, who is Thors and Helga’s son. He was born on February 3, 996.
In Vinland Saga Season 1, Thorfinn is an 18-year-old man while in the second season, his age bracket ranges between 19-22 years old.
Thorfinn always looks up to his father but he was shattered when Thors was killed by Askeladd.
Young Thorfinn vowed to avenge his father, but in order to become capable, he had to live with Askeladd’s group of mercenaries.
From the burning desire to defeat Askeladd to losing the purpose of his life, Thorfinn is living the life of a slave in Vinland Saga Season 2.
How Old Is Einar?
Introduced as one of the main characters in Vinland Saga Season 2, Einar is 20 years old and his birthday remains unknown.
Einar’s village was invaded by the Danish which resulted in the death of his entire family. Fortunately, Einar was spared and sold into slavery.
Later, he ended up at Ketil’s farm as a slave and met Thorfinn for the first time.
They did not immediately become friends, but as they worked on the farm, they started bonding with each other.

How Old Is Askeladd?
Askeladd was one of the central characters and the primary antagonist of Vinland Saga Season 1. He was born in 969 and was 44 years old at the time of his death in 1014.
He was a Welsh-Danish Viking who led a group of Vikings. Thorfinn followed him for over a decade and wished to fight him to avenge his father.
Askeladd was shown as a manipulative and cunning man who was also a skilled swordsman. He was great at strategizing and adapting to any situation.
How Old Is Thors?
Thors was a Jomsviking commander and father of Ylva and Thorfinn. He was born on April 3 and at the time of his passing, he was 39 years old.
His exceptional combat skills earned him the title of Troll of Jom. Up until the birth of Ylva, Thors fought countless battles.
However, he decided to move away from his warrior life and spend more time with his family in Iceland.
At the time of his warrior days, Thors was shown as someone who was cold and remorseless. Things changed when he left the life of a warrior.
He became a kind and gentle person who taught his children to lead a peaceful life. Having first-hand experience with battles, Thors started hating violence.
He was annoyed with Floki when he arrived in Iceland hoping he would convince Thors to fight against England.
Apart from violence, Thors also disliked the idea of killing someone. He even spared Askeladd’s men when they attacked him and Thorfinn.

How Old Is Canute?
The king of England and Denmark, Canute, was born on July 12, 996. He was introduced with long hair, big blue eyes, and a feminine face.
In the first season he is 18 years old while in the second season, he is 19.
After becoming the king, he chopped off his locks and grew facial hair. He has a scar under his left eye, courtesy of Thorfinn.
Initially, Canute was showcased as a weak and timid character who grew in Ragnar’s shadow. However, he started to stand up for himself because of Thorfinn’s constant bullying tactics.
As the series progressed, Canute became a clever character who didn’t shy away from killing anyone who was becoming a hindrance to him.
How Old Is Ketil?
Ketil is 44 years old and his birthday remains unknown. He owns a farm in Jutland, Denmark, and has Thorfinn, Arnheid, and Einar as slaves.
He is shown as a kind man who believes slaves should get a fair chance to earn their freedom.
But there is something far more sinister about Ketil that unfolds in Vinland Saga Season 2.
How Old Is Thorkell?
Thorkell is a 50-year-old commander working under Canute. Initially, he was a Jomsviking commander.
Due to his enormous frame and massive strength, he is popularly known as Thorkell the Tall and is one of the strongest characters in the Vinland Saga series. He is a fun-loving man who is always looking for a good fight.
When he is deprived of fights, he gets irritable and unpredictable. Thorkell isn’t cruel by nature and only likes to fight against someone who is capable.
In the first season, Askeladd and his men saw Thorkell as a major threat. Askeladd ordered Thorfinn to get Thorkell out of the way.
This was the time when Thorkell realized Thorfinn was a powerful opponent and was willing to battle against him.
How Old Is Bjorn?
He was second in command in Askeladd’s band. At the time of Bjorn’s death, he was 38 or 39 years old.
He was fiercely loyal to Askeladd and called him his only friend. Out of all the members in his band, he was with Askeladd for the longest time.
He rose to the ranks of being called Askeladd’s right hand. However, he did not know much about Askeladd.
How Old Is Snake?
34-year-old Snake is a Danish fighter who works as the head of Ketil’s farm’s guards. Snake’s real name is Roald.
He wields an oriental blade hinting that he served the Roman kings in Constantinople as a Varangian Guard.
Snake appears as a compassionate person who is concerned for everyone including the slaves at Ketil’s farm.
He saves Thorfinn and others from getting badly treated by other guards because of his intimidating demeanor.
He is not known to get emotional but he lost his cool when his comrades were killed by Gardar. Snake shares a strong connection with Ketil.
How Old Is Thorgil?
Thorgil debuts in Vinland Saga Season 2 and is 24 years old. He is Olmar’s older brother and Ketil’s oldest son.
He is known for his ruthless nature and even Ketil is afraid of him. Thorgil looks intimidating and proudly wears his battle scars.
Like Thorkell, he enjoys a good battle and can kill anyone who obstructs his way.
How Old Is Floki?
Floki was 35 years old when he first appeared in Vinland Saga Season 1. He was a Jomsviking commander until it disbanded.
Later, he served Sweyn during the invasion of England and eventually worked for Canute. He is the primary villain of the Eastern Expedition arc.
Floki is the one who contracted Askeladd to kill his former colleague, Thors. It was revealed that Floki was never fond of Thors and wished for his death for personal reasons.
He is a petty person who held a grudge against Thorfinn’s father for several years. Floki can be extremely calculative and cold as a person.
How Old Is Sverkel?
Sverkel is Ketil’s 68-year-old father and there is no info regarding his birthday. He lives on Ketil’s farm and appears to be a grumpy old man.
However, he is a kind man who cares about others. He shares a strong bond with Snake despite their rocky relationship.
Sverkel respects hard work and he seems to have soft spot for Thorfinn and Einar.
How Old Is Ylva?
Thorfinn’s older sister, Ylva, was 15 years old when she first appeared in the series, and toward the end of the first season, she turned 27.
She is a tough woman with an expressive face. Ylva stays in Iceland her entire life and is married to Ari. They have three children together.
