More and more The Last of Us Season 2 set photos are making rounds online. For the latest, a grown-up Ellie is seen with Dina, who’s about to debut in the series.
These photos seem to mean nothing, only giving a glimpse of Bella Ramsey’s return as Ellie and the introduction of Isabela Merced’s character, Dina.
However, they reveal key elements of Ellie’s revenge mission and the part of the game the new season will adapt.

Ellie’s Revenge Mission in The Last of Us Season 2
Like the first season, The Last of Us Season 2 will adapt the events from the game’s sequel, The Last of Us Part II.
Here, fans will see the introduction of Abby and Dina, Ellie and Dina’s journey in Seattle, and Joel's death.
X user @DomTheBombYT shared the new set photos of Ellie and Dina. The show is now deep in production in Vancouver, and the leaked images seem to show the couple in British Columbia.
Players know what they intend to do in the city.
Ellie and Dina will explore the streets of Seattle to find Abby and take her revenge after killing Joel.
By the looks of it, these new set photos hint at the beginning of Ellie’s revenge mission.
Ellie and Dina’s Appearance, Outfits and Set Photos’ Location
Ellie and Dina’s outfits from The Last of Us Season 2 set photos also hint at which part of the game they are based on.
Ellie and Dina appear to be in a forest-like area. In the game, the two travel through the wilderness to get to the city of Seattle.
It’s also where Ellie starts crossing names off her list as part of her revenge mission.
In addition, Ellie and Dina’s clothing is similar to that of their counterparts in the game.
Dina is wearing a red shirt paired with a jacket that has a rainbow stripe design. However, she has her hair down, which is the opposite of her character’s hair bun in the game version.
Alternatively, Ellie is sporting a green jacket from Last of Us Part II’s Seattle scenes.
She also has her hair pulled back, similar to her character in the game, though her in-game hair has some of her bangs loose and tucked behind her ear while others hang down.
Other leaked set images include Dina and Ellie riding the horse, Shimmer. X user @CristinaBarper also shares photos of a real-life Weston’s Pharmacy, a recurring place in the franchise.
By the looks of it, it’s part of the set design in Downtown Nanaimo, also in Canada.
Ellie and Dina’s Relationship
Ellie and Dina have a close and intimate relationship in The Last of Us Part II.
They start as friends until their relationship evolves into something romantic. The two share a dance during a celebration in Jackson.
After sharing a kiss, the beginning of their romantic relationship begins.
However, despite being partners and sharing a life together, from trials to tribulations, they end up parting ways.
But as Ellie has her eyes on revenge, she can’t let go of her mission to find Abby and avenge Joel, leaving Dina behind.
The Last of Us Season 2 is set to release in 2025.
