For the past few days, we've been hearing a lot of casting news for the new actors that are joining the cast of the highly-anticipated second season of HBO's The Last of Us.
The new season of the series is set to begin filming this February with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey returning to reprise their respective roles.
It is set to be based on the award-winning and divisive video game sequel The Last of Us Part II which was released in 2020 and won a lot of awards including Game of the Year at The Game Awards.
Now, another casting update has been dropped as the series recruited another new actor to join Joel and Ellie's adventure.

Isabela Merced Casts as Dina in The Last of Us Season 2
Variety confirmed that Madame Web and Dora and the Lost City of Gold star Isabela Merced has been cast to play Dina in the second season of The Last of Us.
The character is described as "a free-wheeling spirit whose devotion to Ellie will be tested by the brutality of the world they inhabit."
"Dina is warm, brilliant, wild, funny, moral, dangerous and instantly lovable," showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann said in a statement.
"You can search forever for an actor who effortlessly embodies all of those things, or you can find Isabela Merced right away. We couldn’t be prouder to have her join our family."
Merced can be seen next in the upcoming film Madame Web where she plays Anya Corazon, one of the main heroes. She also recently joined the DCU as she is set to play Hawkgirl in Superman: Legacy.
Video game fans know that Dina plays a major role in the story of the video game sequel and she'll become an important figure in Ellie's life, which is what the character description already hinted at.
It is interesting to see what her chemistry with Ramsey will be and whether her journey will also be similar to the source material. We can also look forward to seeing who they'll cast in the roles of Lev, Yara, and Manny.
The first season of The Last of Us is available to stream on Max.
