It has only been a week since the first season ended, and now, The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 is official.
The new isekai show's second season was revealed as expected during a recent live stream featuring the show’s cast. Season 2 was revealed alongside a teaser trailer as well as a new key visual.
While many hit anime titles of 2022 have yet to receive Season 2 announcements, The Eminence in Shadow is interesting as it only took a week to get renewed. This likely means the show was a big hit.
The Eminence in Shadow Second Season Teaser Trailer
Following the Season 1 finale last week, a live stream was announced featuring four cast members, including Seiichiro Yamashita (Cid Kagenou), Rina Hidaka (Claire Kagenou), Asami Seto (Alpha), and Hisako Kanemoto (Epsilon).
Typically, new season announcements for anime happen at these events, so fans were already expecting a Season 2 reveal.
What was surprising is that we already got a teaser trailer, which you can watch here:
Well, calling it a proper trailer is a bit generous as it simply contains the confirmation of the second season. And from the looks of it, there’s no new footage shown, which makes sense given that it’s still early in production.
Even though isekai anime are a dime a dozen nowadays, it’s interesting to see that The Eminence in Shadow is successful enough to quickly get a Season 2 renewal. This is a testament to the fanbase that it has gained over its run.

The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 Visual, Release Date
Along with the new announcement trailer, a key visual for the second season has been released.
Shortly after being shown in the stream, it was also uploaded on the show’s official Twitter account.
Much like the teaser, this new visual doesn’t really reveal much in terms of the story, though it does give fans a taste of what to expect regarding Season 2’s setting.
Aside from the teaser and the visual, there aren’t any other details that were revealed.
But what is confirmed is that the anime studio Nexus will produce Season 2, with the previous season's staff and cast members coming back.
Right now, there’s no word yet on a release date for The Eminence in Shadow Season 2, though it’s likely that we’ll see it in 2024 at the earliest.
