Following the series finale, fans believe that The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 might get an announcement in an upcoming livestream that will celebrate the show’s first season.
The Eminence in Shadow ended with its 20th episode, which streamed yesterday.
While the anime wasn’t exactly among the most popular shows of the previous season, it picked up steam as more episodes were released.
The Eminence in Shadow: A Surprise Hit
It seems like a requirement at this point that there should be multiple isekai anime shows in every season. While Fall 22’s biggest hits were not isekai, The Eminence in Shadow is the genre’s representative.
Although it started airing in October, it only ended in the middle of February because of its unusual episode count of 20. For comparison, most anime shows have either 12 or 24 episodes.
The series may have a fairly typical isekai premise, but viewers were quickly engaged with the show’s interesting world, powers, and characters.
To give you a better idea of the show’s popularity, in the Winter 23 season, The Eminence in Shadow was consistently one of the most discussed and upvoted shows on Reddit’s r/anime. It even beat out Vinland Saga Season 2 in its last episodes.
Of course, this can also be attributed to the fact that lots of big shows got delayed in the ongoing season.
But there’s no denying how popular The Eminence in Shadow has become, so it won’t be surprising for it to get a second season.

The Eminence in Shadow Livestream, Possible Season 2 Reveal
Following the show’s finale, the official website revealed that a special broadcast will be streamed live on February 22, 2023, at 8:00 PM JST. This upcoming broadcast is said to have an “important announcement.”
The broadcast will also be a celebration of the first season, as it will feature four cast members, which include Seiichiro Yamashita (Cid Kagenou), Rina Hidaka (Claire Kagenou), Asami Seto (Alpha), and Hisako Kanemoto (Epsilon).
There aren’t many details yet about what will be announced, though fans are expecting that The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 will be confirmed.
This is also supported by some anime leakers online who reported that a second season is indeed in the works.
We’ll have to wait and see if this gets confirmed though. But the chances are high given the show’s success.
