Madame Web star Sydney Sweeney recently poked fun at the Sony movie during her opening monologue when she hosted Saturday Night Live.
The latest installment in Sony's Spider-Man Universe franchise suffered from box office failure and was slammed by critics and fans as they considered it to be one of the worst comic book movies of all time.
Recent reports also claimed that the movie's box office results have potentially killed any hope for Sony's future plans for the franchise.

Sydney Sweeney Disses Madame Web in Her SNL Monologue
During her opening monologue in the recent episode of Saturday Night Live, Sweeney took a jab at Madame Web when she introduced herself to the audience.
She acknowledged her starring roles in the hit rom-com film Anyone But You and the HBO series Euphoria, but she dissed her involvement in the comic book movie.
"You may have seen me in Anyone But You or Euphoria. You definitely did not see me in Madame Web," Sweeney said in her introduction.
The actress is most likely referring to the film's box office failure as it has failed to garner enough numbers to call it a financial win for Sony alongside the many criticisms that it has received.
In its six-day opening, it failed to topple the other release of that week, Bob Marley: One Love, which has become a surprise box office success.
Despite the movie's set-up on Sweeney's character Julia Cornwall and the other female teenage characters as the future Spider-Women in a potential sequel, we can safely say at this point we won't be seeing them again in their respective roles in another project.
Fortunately for Sweeney, she still has a big win in her slate as Anyone But You has grossed more than $200 million at the worldwide box office.
Madame Web is still showing in some theaters.
