Marvel recently announced that Jessica Drew from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is making her comic debut.

The version of Jessica Drew from the animated sequel is portrayed as a pregnant Black woman with an afro who frequently rides a motorcycle. She is voiced by Issa Rae in the film.

Fortunately, fans will now be able to witness more adventures with the animated film's iteration of the character through the comic pages.

Bleeding Cool reported that Jessica Drew from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is making her comic debut in the fourth issue of Edge of Spider-Verse.

Nilah Magruder and Alex Segura are writing the story while Marcus Williams and Salvador Larroca serve as the artists.

The filmmakers behind Across the Spider-Verse are also involved with the conception of the character's comic debut.

They also teased that readers will be able to "witness the true birth of the Spider-Society setting up the next Spider-Verse storytelling epic."

It is slated to be available on comic book stands this May.

This is not the first time that Across the Spider-Verse made its jump to the comic pages as they also released a manga spinoff titled Spider-Man: Octopus Girl written by Hideyuki Furuhashi.

It focuses on Doctor Octopus as he falls into a coma and wakes up as a Japanese middle school student named Otoha Okutamiya.

Jessica Drew became an instant favorite when she was introduced in Across the Spider-Verse and fans will now be able to learn more about the character in her comic debut.

If her one-shot comic becomes a success, it wouldn't be surprising if they do more issues surrounding the other characters in the Spider-Verse films since all of them have interesting origin/solo stories to explore.
