Suicide Squad Is Getting Reshoots To Make It Funnier

Suicide Squad is being made funnier.

Both the first Suicide Squad trailer, which debuted at the San Diego Comic-Con, as well as the succeeding trailers with the Queen song, all received positive feedback from fans. Apparently though, the first ever trailer was the one closer to the actual tone of the film.

Well now, according to Birth. Movies. Death., because of the massive positive response to the trailers with the Queen song, Warner Bros. decided to request reshoots in order to alter the tone of Suicide Squad and make it more light and humorous.

The website noted how a source said a few weeks ago that "every joke in the movie" is in the trailer with the Bohemian Rhapsody background music.

The Suicide Squad reshoots have reportedly begun already. The studio is also adding more cost to the film's budget.

Considering the direction the film is taking, following audience response and all, the studio's investment will likely be well worth it.

It's worth noting that the Russo Brothers have hinted on humor in a recent Civil War interview too. It appears that studios are seeing the benefit of such humorous tone in a comic book film.

It's already been seen in Deadpool, which recently gained the title of highest grossing R-rated movie in the world. It wouldn't be surprising if other upcoming DC and Marvel films would choose to take the same path. Let's just hope it won't be overkill.
