Jesse Eisenberg On Lex Luthor’s Future In The DC Extended Universe

One of the most interesting performances and perhaps characters in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. Just like the movie, his portrayal of the supervillain received mixed reviews from fans and critics alike.

Well, if you liked Eisenberg's version of Lex, don't hold too much hope for his reappearance in future DC films just yet. Apparently, Eisenberg himself isn't sure whether he'll be returning for Justice League Part One, or any DC film for that matter.

The 32-year-old actor told Business Insider:

I don't know if they are so settled on where my character goes. I only hope I have another opportunity to work with these wonderful people and play this interesting character.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Eisenberg's Lex. I think Kevin Spacey's version in 2006's Superman Returns is way better.

However, I understand that Warner Bros. probably intended on casting a younger, more awkward version of the villain with the direction they're planning to take the DC Universe.

In any case, Eisenberg's statement can be cause for concern if the studios decide to listen to Batman v Superman detractors who even petitioned to have Zack Snyder removed from the franchise (although I doubt this could happen what with the movie's box office earnings). Eisenberg's future as Lex could very well be non-existent if that will be the case.

If he won't appear in Justice League though, there could be a chance that he'll be in Suicide Squad, as previously discussed in this theory.
