Aside from the final journey of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and the rest of the gang to fight Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), fans are also looking forward to seeing the next song, Stranger Things Season 5 will popularize. After the previous season brought Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” back to the charts again 37 years after its release, will there be another moment like this? For co-creator Matt Duffer, this may never happen again.
Sure, a lot of scenes from Stranger Things Season 4 had their defining moments, but Max’s (Sadie Sink) face-to-face with Vecna was the much-talked-about. Aside from the intense turn of events, with Vecna trying to get her soul, her friends were doing everything to save her by playing her favorite song, Bush’s “Running Up That Hill,” on her headphones. However, there might not be another hit song like this coming out from Stranger Things Season 5.
No Another Hit Song from Stranger Things Season 5
The show helped the song’s resurgence, making it a viral hit after being featured in the series. It quickly dominated the streaming music charts, becoming the second most-heard song on Spotify in the U.S.
It even made it to the top three of the Billboard Hot 100. Hence, fans are now waiting for what song Stranger Things Season 5 will popularize, but the creators seem to have no plans to do it anymore.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Matt revealed they wouldn’t try to make another Bush moment in the fifth and final season, admitting the “emotional weight” of the scene was hard to top.

"I’ve even seen articles that are like 'What will be Stranger Things‘ next Kate Bush moment?' There won’t be another one! If we attempt that with another song, it will fail,” he explained. “Ross, our music supervisor and I all had a list of possible songs we wanted, and 'Running Up That Hill' was all of them. I’d be lying if I said I knew it was going to resonate in the way it did. I think the reason why is because she was so ahead of her time. It feels very modern. And so kids are hooked on it.”
Though he didn’t even understand how TikTok works, he told Bush about it.

Another Big Music Scene in Stranger Things Season 4
Aside from Bush’s “Running Up That Hill,” the fourth season also had another big music scene, Metallica’s “Master of Puppets.”
No one probably saw it coming when Eddie (Joe Quinn) played the 1986 dong to distract the demobats atop a bus, with speakers on full blast.
Many praised this scene, even the members of Metallica themselves. According to ScreenRant, the song quickly topped multiple streaming platforms and other music chart listings in the U.S. and the U.K.
So, though Matt had no plans to do it again, fans are still looking forward to seeing more hit tracks coming from Stranger Things Season 5.
