The third season of Star Trek: Discovery was an emotional rollercoaster for Paul Stamets as he found a new family and somehow lost them. In addition to that, he was forced off the Discovery by Michael Burnham to prevent a major disaster. But will Stamets challenge Book's new role and regain everything he lost in Star Trek: Discovery Season 4?
What Happened to Stamets in Star Trek: Discovery Season 3?
Stamets appeared to be winning in life early on in the third season. He managed to connect with Adira, who he started to bond with and consider part of his family with Doctor Hugh Culber. Unfortunately, things didn't work so well for Stamets once Osyraa tried to take control of Discovery.
As the only one who knows how to access the spore drive, Stamets was almost used against his own will. However, this was prevented by Burnham as she jettisoned him off the ship despite his pleas to save his family.
Will Stamets Get Back at Burnham in Star Trek: Discovery Season 4?
There are speculations that Stamets will not forgive Burnham so easily despite her actions being the only way to save Discovery. Some believe that Stamets will challenge Book's new role as controller of the spore drive or even defy Burnham who is now the new captain.
Could Stamets Forgive Burnham?
Although Stamets might not go easy on Burnham, co-showrunner Michelle Paradise has confirmed that he will eventually get over his anger in Star Trek: Discovery Season 4.
"Ultimately he's going to understand that she was doing what she needed to do at the moment and the thing he couldn't do," Paradise confirmed. Hopefully, this will mean things will not be tense in the fourth season.
Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 is expected to begin production soon. For now, the new season has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
