Sony's Spider-Verse films have found some success in the last couple of years thanks to the animated Miles Morales films, the Venom films starring Tom Hardy, and its collaboration with Marvel Studios over the Spider-Man films with Tom Holland.
The franchise is set to expand even further with upcoming films such as Kraven the Hunter starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson later this year and the Dakota Johnson-led Madame Web which will release next year. A third Venom film is also in the works.
Now, it looks like we have more details about the future of the franchise as the studio has revealed more release dates for the franchise's upcoming slate.
More Release Dates are Set in Sony's Spider-Verse Franchise
According to Deadline, Sony has reserved the November 8, 2024 and June 27, 2025 dates for two of their untitled Marvel/Spider-Verse movies and both are expected to have access to IMAX screens as well.
However, they didn't reveal which titles are set to take those dates. Currently, they don't have any significant competition on the November 2024 date while they will compete with the live-action remake of Moana in the June 2025 date.
A lot of fans are speculating that Venom 3 will be taking the November 2024 slot since it was previously reported that the film is expected to release in theaters on October 2024 although it sounds like they'll be taking the next month instead.
As for the June 2025 date, the main guess is it is being reserved for the fourth Spider-Man film with Tom Holland which is also in the works at the moment and it is expected to continue the collaboration between Sony and Marvel Studios.
Recently, Disney announced that Blade and Fantastic Four are the MCU films that will release in February and May 2025 respectively so a new Spider-Man movie releasing at the end of June is a likelihood.
We should be hearing more definitive updates about the untitled Spider-Verse movies in the coming months as they are still in development and we might hear some details once the ongoing writers' strike ends.
