Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse Will Feature More Variants of Gwen Stacy

A lot of fans are now already looking forward to Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse next year following the successful release of Across the Spider-Verse earlier this month to both critical and box office success and the massive cliffhanger that it left off.

While the ending of the sequel gave us an idea of what we can expect in the third film, most of the plot details are still under wraps although the producers have teased that it will be more epic than the previous two installments.

Now, we have another exciting piece of information about the third film and it sounds like it will give us a lot of Gwen Stacy this time around.

The Third Spider-Verse Movie Will Have Multiple Variants of Gwen Stacy

In a recent appearance at Crew Call with Anthony D'Alessandro podcast (via ComicBook.com), producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller revealed that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will feature multiple variants of Gwen Stacy.

"Currently, yes. Currently, yes. I would say that, yes. It's on the page. It is… I think that that… These things evolve as they go," the duo said.

"But there's one I'm very excited about," Lord added.

Miller remarked, "Yes, I know exactly the one you're talking about. You know the one I'm thinking of, which is based on… I'm not gonna say anything. I'm not gonna say anything. But it is sort of plot-integral, I would say."

This is an exciting update about the upcoming third film as we're anticipating its release early next year and it suggests that Gwen Stacy will have a lot of screen time in the movie due to the multiple variants.

However, there is also a likelihood that the Gwen Stacy variants that we will see in the film won't be the same as the Hailee Steinfeld-voiced character that we know, and perhaps it's the usual variant in the Spider-Man lore where she is Peter Parker's first girlfriend.

Either way, it is still exciting to find out what they offer with the other variants of Gwen Stacy and it is also curious to see whether Spider-Gwen will also interact with them. We should be able to find out about it in just less than a year.
