After being pushed back date after date for its premiere, the threequel is now coming back to the big screens this year!

Venom: The Last Dance hits theaters on October 25, 2024, the same month its predecessors were released: 2018's Venom on October 1 premiered in 2018, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage was released in 2021.

Why the Final Venom Film Took 3 Years To Get Here

How come it took Venom: The Last Dance three years to get here?

Well, production for the threequel halted during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike and only resumed after the strike's end. Filming had only wrapped up in February 2024, and thankfully releasing this year, too.

While it was unfortunate to get Venom 3 delayed from its premiere, the trailer seemingly promises a potentially better story than the previous versions of it.

Venom: The Last Dance was initially slated to release in summer, until it was moved to November 8, 2024. Eventually, fans rejoice as they can expect the symbiote and his host back on screens this October, instead.

Considering the story of what the threequel is all about, it's no wonder why it got delayed a number of times before becoming official. Here's what Venom: The Last Dance has in store for us.

What Will Venom: The Last Dance Be About?

Since the second movie, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, leads up to where the threequel will take us, let's do a little recap before diving into Venom and Eddie Brock's last dance.

The two previous supervillains, Carnage and Shriek, were set to destroy the duo, and as expected, Venom wins by the end of the film.

However, the sequel didn't end things then and there as Brock and Venom got whisked away to another dimension where J. Jonah Jameson revealed the identity of Tom Holland's Spider-Man.

While this easily sets up having Brock and Venom join the multiverse and the Marvel Cinematic Universe altogether, the official trailer doesn't imply the Sony Spider-Verse is uniting with the Disney franchise.

According to the official synopsis at the bottom of the official trailer, The Last Dance will follow Brock and Venom on the run in their final film for the trilogy as they are "hunted by both of their worlds."

As Venom said in the trailer, "Eddie, my own has found us" indicates that their relationship is considered abnormal and therefore could be their main reason to be eradicated from existence.

There's a chance we may be getting a new supervillain to lead Venom's kind into their paths. In this case, we're likely getting the precursor villain who eliminated Carnage and Shriek — another symbiote host who may be described as Venom's new archnemesis in the threequel.

Alongside Toxin, we've got Juno Temple's Dr. Payne and Chiwetel Ejiofor's undisclosed character.
