Following the smashing success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans are starting to wonder whether Tom Holland will have his fourth film as Spider-Man in the MCU. Fortunately, the producers confirmed that it is in the works and the relationship between Sony and Marvel Studios will still continue.

However, since then, we haven't heard any updates about the project aside from the obvious return of Holland and Zendaya. It is also unknown yet whether Jon Watts will also return to helm the new film.

Speaking with Variety during the premiere event of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, producer Amy Pascal was asked for updates on the development of the fourth film with Holland.

Pascal confirmed that the film is still in the works although the development has been paused due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike where writers are currently not allowed to do any work while on its duration.

"Are we going to make another movie? Of course, we are," she said.

"We’re in the process, but the writers strike, nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started."

While work is currently on pause for the project, it is exciting nonetheless to hear that the film is still definitely happening and fans can look forward to seeing Holland's fourth movie as our friendly neighbor in the near future.

If the project does end up getting a green light, Holland will become the first Spider-Man actor to lead four movies and, with the way No Way Home ended, it is exciting to see what they have in store for Peter Parker's next journey as a hero without family and friends who know him.

The plot details also remain under wraps right now for the fourth film, but there are rumors that Kingpin will be the main antagonist and Matt Murdock might also make an appearance to join him.

We should be hearing more news and updates about the project sometime after the strike ends which still does not have an endpoint.
