Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 1 Ending Explained

In Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 1, The Tortoise and the Hare, the show gets into the journey six months after the end of Season 2 and the pirate train of Layton and company remains unattached to the Eternal Engine. Wilford struggles to impose his full control on the train but things are starting to get exciting with another resistance brewing with the passengers led by Ruth and Pike.

On Snowpiercer, the resistance is budding and Ruth secretly helps them while Pike is deliberately leading them. However, it was discovered by Kevin that hot-baths were given to those connected to the resistance, thus, exposing them to Mr. Wilford. A taillie and the water master of the second class was punished.

Meanwhile, on the pirate train, the team continues the research of Melanie on where the Earth is starting to get warmer. Ben went out to North Korea to explore where exactly is the place that is heating up and he fell into a reactor, thus, Layton and Josie went out to look for him. While on the train, Miss Audrey got out of lock up and she tried to convince Alex to leave the three behind. Bess was there to stop that from happening.

When they found Ben, they made sure to keep him alive and saved him from the reactor. However, Layton got curious as to how the reactor is still working. He encountered a woman in a red suit and she attacked him. That woman knows science to kame a reactor work.

Many people believe that Melanie survived being left behind in Season 2 of Snowpiercer and talks are brewing that she could actually be the woman in the red suit. However, people are questioning why the woman hit Layton because if it is actually Melanie, would she rather be relieved to see him in person? It remains possible that it could be her, though, she might have a grudge for being left behind.

Still, it opens another possibility. In the trailer of the season, a woman named Asha was introduced as well as the place called New Eden. It is also possible that the reactor could be powering the New Eden and people who weren’t able to board the train made it work.

Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 1 is currently streaming on TNT’s website and app. The whole season will be out on Netflix after the finale and all the ten episodes air.
