The third season of Snowpiercer is set to premiere soon and viewers have been looking forward to seeing what's next on the post-apocalyptic series after the cliffhanger ending of the second season. After the promising first trailer that was released last month, TNT has now unveiled a new trailer that gives us another extended look at the upcoming season.
Just like the first trailer, the new two-minute trailer gave us a look at the much-anticipated third season as it picks up after the events of the second season finale where Layton and his inner circle command a small 10-car "pirate train" in search of Melanie and a possible warm location called New Eden to restart civilization. Meanwhile, back in Snowpiercer, Mr. Wilford is consolidating power as he is waiting for Layton's return. The trailer also gave us an extended look at the mysterious new character named Asha who may or may not have the key to a brighter future beyond the train. You can watch it here:
The new trailer gave us the same tease that they showed in the first trailer in which we get to see Layton and the crew search for Melanie and look for clues regarding an alleged warm area named New Eden, which will supposedly be the "brighter future awaiting beyond the train." We also see them encounter Asha, who claimed to have survived the environment outside the train for the past several years. At the same time, Mr. Wilford's menacing leadership aboard the train is still a bigger threat and the trailer hinted at an intense fight between the two sides during the season.
Returning cast members for the third season include Daveed Diggs, Jennifer Connelly, Sean Bean, Rowan Blanchard, Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand, Mike O'Malley, and Steven Ogg. Chelsea Harris has been promoted to series regular after a recurring role on the second season while Archie Panjabi joins the season as new character Asha.
The third season of Snowpiercer premieres on Monday, January 24 at 9pm ET on TNT.
