Me Before You is a serious film despite its light moments. Even from the first trailer released early this February, we can see that the movie is somewhat of a tear-jerker. It's only natural for the film's cast to amuse themselves while the cameras aren't rolling. Well, Emilia Clarke, who's famous for playing Daenerys Targaryen in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones, is one of those actors.
Clarke apparently pulled a good one on Me Before You co-star Sam Claflin, who vehemently denied during the film's roundtable discussion that he didn't steal Clarke's Game of Thrones figurine.
During an interview with Cinema Blend, Claflin explained why he's denying Clarke's accusation of him stealing the doll:
So [Emilia Clarke] got given, on day one of filming, this little Daenerys Targaryen doll with a bobble head. Basically, [Emilia] lost it, and then came on set and went, ‘Sam stole my doll.' And I went, ‘What? How's this working out?' And basically all the crew thought I was a thief. Then basically [Emilia] went back to her room, found it, and then hid it in my bag so when I got home I saw it and thought, ‘I did steal the doll.'
This only goes to show how a good actress Clarke is if she made the entire crew think Claflin was a thief.
Fortunately, the authorities never got involved in the prank.
It's not surprising to see the 29-year-old English actress playing a joke on her co-star. We've seen her several times in interviews being open to and joking about somehow taboo topics like Jason Momoa's male genitalia, male nudity on Game of Thrones, and even watching her nude scene in Thrones with her parents.
In any case, this prank is probably helpful building the bond between Clarke and Claflin, which they needed in Me Before You, to hit theaters on Friday, June 3.
