Rachel Zegler Gives Behind-the-Scenes Tour of Hunger Games Prequel: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

Rachel Zegler has given the fans a behind-the-scenes tour of Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games Prequel: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes on Tiktok. Zegler is set to play Lucy Gray Baird in the film, who was the first ever victor for District 12, which was actually indirectly mentioned by Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in the first Hunger Games book. In this upcoming prequel, the story tackles Coriolanus Snow during Panem’s 10th Hunger Games, 64 years prior to The Hunger Games.

In the Tiktok video, Lucy Gray Baird actress Rachel Zegler reveals a set tour of the new Hunger Games Prequel movie, showing some of the cast members dancing around in their red uniforms and standing around in a room with white-painted barricades, and even a 'Video Village' where, as quoted from Zegler, their director, producers, writers, dialect coach come to watch everything play out.

Some of the cast members that appeared on camera include Tom Blyth (future President Coriolanus Snow) drinking coffee, only to throw the empty cup as an attempt to run away. As President Snow, he is also the star of the show as the assigned mentor Lucy Gray Baird. Another seen cast member were Peter Dinklage sitting on a desk, and Zegler’s jokingly ‘least favorite person on set’ Josh Rivera (Sejanus Plinth), who greets the camera like a TV reporter as he takes off his glasses.

Along with Rachel Zegler, the film will also star Jason Schwartzman, and Hunter Schafer with Viola Davis in addition to playing the villainous Dr. Volumnia Gaul, the head gamemaker of the 10th annual Hunger Games. Watch Rachel Zegler's behind-the-scenes Tiktok video here.

Rachel Zegler is also involved in other roles such as in Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White as the titular character. Although criticisms have circulated of her casting as being ‘too politically correct’, the actress was not afraid to hold her ground by responding, “At the end of the day, I have a job to do that I’m really excited to do. I get to be a Latina princess.”

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is set to premiere on November 17, 2023.
